For much of that time he was involved in language study, literacy, Bible translation, and training of church leaders among the Yali people. He has made a particular study of the subject of Scripture in an oral culture, and has written this articlefor The Bible Translator out of his own experience and study. He is now Director, Mission Education, for RBMU International in Canada. The Yali New Testament was completed in 1990 and has been published recently by the Indonesian Bible Society.
