The UBS Handbooks are detailed commentaries providing exegetical, historical, cultural, and linguistic information for translators, as well as suggestions for arriving at a clear equivalent rendering. The Handbooks are also useful to pastors, Bible students, Sunday School teachers, and others interested in knowing more about the Bible. The material is practical and yet scholarly.

The publication of the UBS scholarly editions—the Greek and Hebrew texts used by translators—is carried out under the auspices of the German Bible Society. The UBS Monograph Series publishes significant research in the field of translation, particularly Bible translation. Eleven volumes have been published so far.
Bible Lands DVD
The “Bible Lands as Classroom” DVD set is an excellent teaching tool for Bible translators, pastors, and anyone who would like to know more about biblical geography, history, and culture. The series, filmed in Israel and other Middle Eastern countries, is designed as a two-week training course for Bible translators.
